It was Auckland's Under-21 curlers who took the honours in the 2010 Auckland Mixed Doubles Curling Championship at Paradice Avondale on Sunday 22 August. Chelsea Farley and Keswick Pearson won the trophy with a perfect record, while Chelsea's sister Tessa and Kieran Ford took the runner-up spot. Another Auckland junior, Eleanor Adviento, teamed up with 2006 Olympian Lorne DePape to claim third. Chelsea and Keswick had 2 point wins in their first two matches, including a last end triple to take their match against Tessa and Kieran. In the final game of the night they faced the only other unbeaten team, 2009 runners-up Liz Matthews and Ian Ford. However the youngsters made no match of it, coming away with a 10-3 result to win the title. |
