Beckers win 2009 Season Opener PDF Print E-mail

The 2007 Mixed Doubles champions Sean and Bridget Becker won the opening event of the 2009 season when they won the Open Doubles tournament hosted at Naseby's Maniototo Curling International on Sunday 29 March.

They beat a field that included the 2008 title-holders Scott Becker and Brydie Donald as well as the Australian champions Gerald Chick and Jenn Thomas.

Naseby's Maniototo Curling International rink will kick off the 2009 season with an Open Doubles Tournament on Sunday 29 March. This will have the added benefit of helping NZ's Scottie Becker and Brydie Donald with their training for April's 2009 World Mixed Doubles Championship in Italy.

Competition times and draw will be advised once entries are confirmed.

Gerald Chick and Jenn Thomas, Australia's team at the World Mixed tournament, will also be competing.
