Applications are open for a youth training camp at MCI in Naseby in July, hosted by the NZ Curling Association. Confirmed dates are Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th, in the week between the NZ National Championships and the NZ Junior (Under-21) Curling Championships.
The camp will be open to curlers of any ability. Curlers will be allocated to training groups of similar experience and ability, and although nominally a youth camp, NZCA Secretary Murray Petherick confirms that all interested curlers will be welcome.

The New Zealand Curling Association is calling for expressions of interest from suitably qualified persons interested in undertaking the role of team coach for one or more of the national teams – excluding the national men's team – for the coming tournament season.

There was a surprise at yesterday's Welcome Reception for athletes at the 2012 Pacific-Asia Curling Championships.
Kate Caithness, President of the World Curling Federation, presented Liz Matthews, Member of the New Zealand Curling Association, with an IOC Women and Sport Achievement Diploma signed by Jacques Rogge.
The Diploma recognises Liz's outstanding contribution to promoting the development and participation of women and girls in sport.
The IOC Women and Sport Trophy is awarded annually to each of the five continents along with a Worldwide recipient. The New Zealand Curling Association was very proud to nominate Liz, who received the full support of the WCF.

Poolburn Curling Club took home the prized Snuff Box Trophy when they won the recent National Bonspiel.
2012 marks the third success for Poolburn in this iconic New Zealand sporting event, called only when there is sufficient natural ice on an outdoor rink.

A snow shower and biting temperatures were not enough to deter curlers in the Nicolson Trophy match at the Naseby outdoor rink.
The Nicolson Trophy is played between the two top teams from the Idaburn and Naseby Councils, as decided from their respective “One Day Matches” from the previous season.

The first Pacific-Asia Junior Curling Camp, run jointly by the World Curling Federation and the New Zealand Curling Association, has just wrapped up at the Maniototo Curling International indoor rink in Naseby.
24 Junior curlers from Japan, Australia and New Zealand took part in the 6 day camp in early January – including junior athletes who will heading to Innsbruck, Austria for the 1st Winter Youth Olympic Games this month.

The World Curling Federation has just released the latest revision of the Rules of Curling.
The new June 2011 version of the rules do not vary significantly from those that were in effect from June 2010 – the changes are mainly to tidy some of the wording, and change the "coach interaction" to a "team time-out".

The NZ Curling Association was delighted with a very successful and enjoyable 125th Jubilee celebration at the end of June, and confirms the results of recent National titles.
Coming up are further National championships and the 100% Pure NZ Winter Games. All NZ curlers are also invited to participate in the Trans-Tasman challenge in Melbourne at the end of September.
