The World Curling Federation has just released the latest revision of the Rules of Curling.
The new June 2011 version of the rules do not vary significantly from those that were in effect from June 2010 – the changes are mainly to tidy some of the wording, and change the "coach interaction" to a "team time-out".

The NZ Curling Association was delighted with a very successful and enjoyable 125th Jubilee celebration at the end of June, and confirms the results of recent National titles.
Coming up are further National championships and the 100% Pure NZ Winter Games. All NZ curlers are also invited to participate in the Trans-Tasman challenge in Melbourne at the end of September.

Included in this newsletter are recommendations from the recent High Performance Committee meeting and contact details of the newly confirmed Executive Committee after the Annual General Meeting.
The NZCA also seeks applications for a third selector for both the Open and Seniors teams, and for coaches of the various national teams.

The 2010 Pacific Curling Championships may have been the last – under that name at least.
The six member associations have unanimously agreed that the name of the Pacific Curling Federation should change to Pacific-Asia Curling Federation.
This change will now await formal ratification from the World Curling Federation.

A mild start to the New Zealand winter may have kept the farmers happy with a longer growing season, but it created a few headaches for organizers of the NZ Curling Association's 125th Jubilee Bonspiel.

With no chance of natural ice, four ice rinks in the lower South Island hosted the 28 teams on Thursday 23 and Friday 24 June. Most sides played at a different venue on each of the two days of keen but friendly competition. The 7 rounds of crampit curling were followed a round of hack on Friday afternoon, and then a Jubilee dinner at Ranfurly on Friday evening.

The New Zealand Curling Association is to celebrate its 125th Jubilee this winter by holding a Jubilee Bonspiel on Thursday 23 June and Friday 24 June 2011, to be followed by a Jubilee Dinner at the Maniototo Stadium, Ranfurly on the Friday evening.
