| Carry-over champions Otago Boys High School |
|
Otago Boys High School has successfully defended the NZ Secondary Schools Curling title it won last year.
The Dunedin side of Byron Dodge, Sam Blakely, Joe Anderson and Josh Wyber beat Long Bay College 8-3 in the Boys final at the NZ Schools Championship in Auckland this week.
As in the earlier round robin game between these teams, the scores were level after four of the eight ends but the southerners were too consistent in the final half of the game.

Henderson High School added the Girl's Auckland Secondary Schools title to their North Island Schools crown at the Auckland finals night at Paradice Avondale on 15 September.
Waverley Taylor, Maria Anderson, Shelley Addison-Bell and Nicola Duncan held off the challenge of Massey High School to win their final 8-2.

Birkenhead College, Henderson High School and Long Bay College are the Auckland Secondary Schools Curling champions for 2010. They received the trophies for the Boys, Girls and Mixed teams respectively after the Finals night at Paradice earlier this month.

Otago Boys High School won its first national curling title when they triumphed in the Boys' Final at the 2010 Pub Charity NZ Secondary School Championships in Dunedin yesterday. They edged out the previously unbeaten Maniototo Area School side in a 6-5 thriller at the Caversham Trust rink.

The 2010 North Island Secondary Schools Curling Championships saw Birkenhead College, Epsom Girls Grammar School and Long Bay College take home the Boys, Girls and Mixed titles respectively after the finals on Wednesday 1st September.

Two of the three matches completed in the Auckland Secondary Schools curling competition at Paradice Avondale last night were decided on the last stone, including a final shot take-out to score 5, resulting in a one point win.

Schools co-ordinator Liz Matthews advises that entry forms are now available on-line for the 2010 Auckland Secondary Schools Curling Championships. She believes that interest will be high this year, judging by the number of pre-season enquiries.

The NZ Secondary School Curling Championships concluded with Finals night at Paradice Avondale Ice Rink, Auckland last evening. The event commenced at 6:00am on Saturday morning with a 6 hour session and continued Sunday at the same time.
It was run in two pools of five teams, with the first two in each pool entering crossover semifinals and the next two playing off for minor placings and overall standings.

The 2009 Auckland Secondary Schools curling competition wound up at Paradice Avondale on Thursday night with some music, social points games, a draw to the button competition and the presentation of trophies to the winning teams.
