Schools co-ordinator Liz Matthews advises that entry forms are now available on-line for the 2010 Auckland Secondary Schools Curling Championships. She believes that interest will be high this year, judging by the number of pre-season enquiries.

"The excellent TV coverage of curling at the Vancouver Winter Olympics was the best we've ever seen in New Zealand," she said, "and we had 140 people of all ages attend a 'Have-A-Go' night early this month."

Auckland Curling will run introductory 2-hour sessions for prospective high school curlers at Paradice Avondale from 7pm on Thursday 29 April and again on Thursday 6 May, when final entries are due. The season proper will run on Thursday evenings from 13 May through Terms 2 and 3.

Three competitions will run concurrently – Boys, Girls and Mixed. All team members must be under 19 years of age and attend the same secondary school. The competition is sanctioned by College Sport and the New Zealand Secondary Schools Sports Council.
