Henderson High School added the Girl's Auckland Secondary Schools title to their North Island Schools crown at the Auckland finals night at Paradice Avondale on 15 September. Waverley Taylor, Maria Anderson, Shelley Addison-Bell and Nicola Duncan held off the challenge of Massey High School to win their final 8-2. 2012 NZ Youth Winter Olympians Eleanor Adviento and Kelsi Heath teamed with Jake Farrell and Connor Cowling in the Birkenhead College team that secured the Auckland Mixed final 11-0 over Massey High School, reversing the result of their only loss this season. The Boys final was a very tight game, but the Long Bay College side of Garion Long, Tamara Long, Miller Adams and Matt Hohaia capped off an oustanding season to edge out Avondale College 4-3. North Island Secondary Schools ChampionshipsHenderson's Team Taylor were also undefeated in winning the North Island SS Girls title at Paradice a few weeks earlier. Massey High School (Brogan Powlesland, Ashleigh Rapana, Rory Duggan, Corey Foster, Niall Rankin, Tayler Adams) were unchallenged for the Mixed crown, and Kelston Boys High School (Rory Duggan, Corey Foster, Niall Rankin, Tayler Adams) upset the favoured Long Bay College side to win the Boys Championship. The last event on the School Curling calendar for 2011 will be the NZ Secondary School Championships at Paradice Avondale on 10-12 October. Seven teams have entered the Boys, Girls and Mixed competitions, including Otago Boys High School who will travel north to defend the title they won in 2010. Result Details:
