Weather upsets Macrae Trophy

The first two weeks of Idaburn Council's annual Macrae Trophy competition for 2012 have fallen foul of the weather.

Only half of the scheduled four rounds of games were possible on the first day, Monday 11 June, before ice conditions and safety concerns forced organisers to halt play for the day. The following week's competition was then postponed altogether on account of road and weather conditions.

Organisers have now revised the schedule for a second time, with Finals now pencilled in for 30 July.

"Please note that a final decision of the date for the rescheduled rounds will be made closer to the date," said Pat Cooney, speaking on behalf of the Combined Clubs organising group. "This will allow any complications arising from any further postponements to be taken into account."

Gerry Sanders Memorial Trophy

Entries also close this Sunday (24 June) for the Gerry Sanders Memorial Trophy.

Clubs already entered are Becks, Cambrian, Chatto Creek, Lowburn, and Manorburn.
