Update #4 from NZ Curling Association – 10 June

10 June 2020 – The New Zealand Curling Association Executive is continuing to monitor Covid-19 and is extremely excited about New Zealand's move to Level 1!

Together with our curling facilities, the NZCA Executive has been working on confirming our curling tournament dates. Please view the revised 2020 calendar here to see when tournaments are for the up and coming season. Some dates have been changed from the original and a couple of tournaments are yet to be confirmed. We are looking forward to getting the curling season underway!

The NZCA has released the document New Zealand Curling at Level 1 – click here to view (updated 10th June). It has been created alongside Sport NZ and Curling Rinks in compliance with the Ministry of Health and New Zealand Government requirements and guidelines. While the adaptations to the game have been lifted, the NZCA would appreciate curlers being vigilant with sanitization and ensuring they do not go to a facility if they are feeling unwell. Each Ice Rink facility may adopt safety procedures and practices that differ from place to place, please be mindful of this. Thank you for your cooperation.

Maniototo Curling International Rink will open on 1st July with the first round of the Contractors' Cup. See the MCI website.

Update #3 from NZ Curling Association – 21 May

21 May 2020 – The New Zealand Curling Association Executive is continuing to monitor Covid-19 day by day.

The NZCA Executive has released the document New Zealand Curling at Level 1 – click here to view. It has been created alongside Sports NZ and Curling Rinks in compliance with the Ministry of Health and New Zealand Government requirements and guidelines. It will be updated as new information guidelines come to hand. There are some slight adaptations to the game, and NZCA appreciates Curlers' understanding and compliance. In the meantime each Ice Rink facility may adopt safety procedures and practices that differ from place to place, there may also be limitations to spectators. Thank you for your patience.

A sub-committee has been formed to undertake discussions on New Zealand Curling competitions and when they may take place. Notification will given in due course as to these dates.

At this stage Maniototo International Curling Rink has closed until June 30 due to Covid-19. This means there will be no curling events held in Naseby during this period.

Update #2 from NZ Curling Association – 30 April

30 April 2020 – The New Zealand Curling Association Executive is continuing to monitor Covid-19 day by day.

At the NZCA Executive Meeting last night it was discussed that we will continue to adopt the appropriate safeguards in compliance with the Government, Ministry of Health and Sport New Zealand requirements and guidelines and how this will look for New Zealand Curling in the future.

Further decisions will be made in due course as New Zealand moves through the Alert Levels with the possibility of reopening when we reach Level 2. It is likely that some up and coming curling events may be postponed and, in some instances, cancelled. However, we are investigating the possibility of holding events later in the season.

At this stage Maniototo International Curling Rink has closed until June 30 due to Covid-19. This means there will be no curling events held in Naseby during this period.

Due to Covid-19, the Annual AGM has been scheduled for Friday 19th June, Oturehua Hall at 8pm in the hope that we can meet in person at a lower Alert Level. Confirmation of this will be sent out by the NZCA Secretary by 1st June. The Agenda and nomination forms will circulate Tuesday 12th May. 23 Mar 2020 – The New Zealand Curling Association Executive are monitoring Covid-19 day by day.

We will adopt the appropriate safeguards in compliance with Government, Ministry of Health and Sport New Zealand requirements and guidelines.

Further decisions will be made in due course as information comes to hand which could include provisions of postponing or cancelling up and coming curling events.
