The final was a closely fought affair, with the scores tied at 6-6 with two ends to play, before the Becker duo broke away to take the title.

In the semi-finals Sean and Bridget Becker beat Murray and Kylie Pethrick 10-4, while Scott Becker and Brydie Donald had a 9-1 win over Matt Weir and Lucy Harris.

Twelve teams competed for the title, including curlers from Auckland and Australia.

The announcement of who will represent NZ at the World Mixed Doubles championships next March in Finland has been delayed until after next month's Pacific championships in Beijing, when the availability of all players will be known.
