NZ Curling Board of Directors

The New Zealand Curling Association is New Zealand's national governing body for the sport of curling [including the Olympic-style and the traditional crampet styles of curling].  Under the new constitution of 23 May 2025, the NZCA Board comprises five Directors.

Jo Bailey – Chair

Jo BaileyDr Jo Bailey is an experienced governance leader with a strong track record across Trustee roles, Independent appointments, and Director positions in both the charity and commercial sectors. She brings a disciplined, evidence-based approach to board practice and has a genuine passion for supporting the growth of curling in New Zealand.

With a professional background as a CEO in the not-for-profit sector, Jo has a clear and practical understanding of governance–management boundaries, enabling her to contribute strategic oversight while maintaining clarity of role. She values inclusive participation and recognises the vital contribution of volunteers, administrators, coaches, and officials to the health of the sport.

Jo's connection to curling began in 2019 during a visit to Naseby, where she supported the Ice Academy for young athletes participating in curling, skating, and luge. This experience sparked a strong interest in this fun, competitive and inclusive sport and its development in Aotearoa New Zealand, complementing her broader dedication to strengthening governance across the sport sector.

Maureen McCloy – Board Member

As a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors she understands the importance of good governance to organisations as they strive to deliver on their purpose.

Whilst her governance experience to date has been in tourism, environmental and outdoor recreation charities, she has led an incorporated society through a significant period of change, in a way that ensured members were brought along in the process.

Maureen was born in Ranfurly and brought up on a farm out towards Gimmerburn. She has personal family connections to curling and strong Maniatoto ties. She therefore offers a community and regional perspective to the Board.
