NZ Curling has created a NZ Junior Curling annual fundraiser, The Big Boar Hunting Competition. After the success of the first competition just held in May 2023, we have decided to continue this as an annual event.
To farmers, pigs are pests; they make a mess of paddocks and eat food intended for stock. Pigs can also carry diseases such as Tuberculosis (TB) which is harmful to farmers' stock. During lambing, boars can turn into lamb killers; once they get a taste for newborn lambs, they go around and eat them.
This fundraiser is to help raise funds for the NZ Junior Curling (U21) teams to attend the World Junior B Curling Championships in Lohja, Finland, in December.
We wish to thank the major sponsors and the many businesses who have donated prizes to make this competition possible. NZ Curling has been overwhelmed by the support.
Date for 2024: Thursday 16th - Sunday 19th May 2024.
