Warren first came to prominence in New Zealand curling as a 17-year-old, when he played lead stones in the team that won the 1997 Wendorf Rock – at that stage, the de facto NZ Championship. He played third in the side that won again in 2002 and then skipped the winning rink in 2004.

He has been a regular member of the national Men's side since 2003/2004, and has two Pacific gold medals. In recent years has made the vital role of lead his own.

A big rugby fan, Warren rates All Black flankers Josh Kronfeld and Richie McCaw as inspirations on his life and career.
