The NZSSCC is a School Sport New Zealand (SSNZ) sanctioned event. All teams and participants must meet the SSNZ Eligibility Requirements applicable to this event.
Schools experiencing difficulty meeting the eligibility requirements or forming a team for the NZSSCC may apply directly to SSNZ for an exemption. This may include, but is not limited to, the following circumstances:
- Two or more schools wishing to combine to form a Composite Team.
- Inclusion of Year 7/8 students to enable a school to field a team.
- Other eligibility-related circumstances that may require SSNZ consideration.
Schools are encouraged to contact their Regional Curling Co-ordinator for advice and support if they are experiencing difficulty forming a team. They will be able to help guide you through the eligibility requirements and offer some scenarios before applying to SSNZ.
Applications for exemptions must be submitted directly to SSNZ no later than 5.00 pm, Tuesday, 4th August 2026
